The article on the left [double click on it to see a readable version] appeared in the Newark (Delaware) Weekly on 27 November 1968.  The Delaware Sängerbund Kickers had been, during its previous 9 years of existence, a German team composed of members of the Delaware Sängerbund, a club located in Newark, Delaware.  Some German members of the club find it hard to believe the club was ever run by a non-German, however, in the Fall 1968 soccer season the club's team was run by an American of Italian-Greek ancestry.
